It is the job of the next generation to challenge the thought and traditions of the previous. Is that still happening? It feels like the are towing the line with their parents. This not the way my generation, or my parents, or their parent's generation did it. This is not how we reached the moon or ended segregration. This is not how thing should be.
I read a news story about a girl who challenged her high school over some innane policy. Her schoolmates called her a communist. Apparently her schoolmates failed World histroy since clearly the young lady was just excercising her God given right to challenge the establishment. No communial living, no seizing of private assets by the man/school. Just challenging a policy she thought was wrong.
I blame all this on global warming.
I thought I commented on this one before.
ReplyDeleteI was having a lot of trouble posting comments for a couple months - someone finally told me that I can't click "Keep me signed in" on Google/Blogger or else all sorts of bad things happen.
Problem resolved.
Anyway, I hate to sound like an old person - "society is going to hell in a handbasket. In my day..." - but I think we're kind of coasting as a society.
Which is bad.
It's a stagnation.
I blame "Jersey Shore."
And "Grand Theft Auto."
And internet porn.
And also Joe Biden.
Regardless of the activity, there are things you are always safe in placing blame. When I was a cop, unsafe lane movement was always the default infraction. Even speeding could be loosely defined as unsafe lane movement. Same for when I played hockey, almost all penalties had elbowing involved. So in life, it is safe to blame Joe Biden. You are always safe playing that card.
ReplyDeleteJersey Shore, the Kardashians, there is plenty of places to point fingers. Stagnation is probably the best description.
By the way I am glad you figured out the glitch. I had almost forgotten about this spot. I have other things to share.
